Kale Chips

Kale Chips

Kale chips are the best thing to come out of the entire alternative-chips craze. They are soooo good! And super easy to make. The most fun thing about making kale chips is that you can always continue trying different seasoning combinations! Have fun with it.

INGREDIENTS makes 2 servings

1 bunch kale

1 tsp oil (your favorite flavor or try ones like garlic avocado, lemon, or truffle)

1/4 – 1/2 tsp salt (or your favorite seasoning salt)

INSTRUCTIONS

  • 1 bunch kale

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, and place one oven rack in the middle. Tear the kale into chip sized pieces, leaving the thick center stem out.

  • 1 tsp oil (your favorite flavor or try ones like garlic avocado, lemon, or truffle)
  • 1/4 – 1/2 tsp salt (or your favorite seasoning salt)

2. Toss the kale in the oil, until all of the pieces are lightly coated. Spread the kale out onto a baking sheet, in a single layer. Sprinkle with salt. I usually have to use 2 – 3 cookie sheets to fit all of the kale in a single layer. My favorite oil/salt combinations include: lemon oil/lemon salt, garlic avocado oil/regular salt, truffle oil/cajun seasoning, olive oil/regular salt. Let me know if you think of any other stellar combinations!

3. Bake the kale chips for 7 – 8 min, until the chips at the edges of the baking sheet start to turn a little brown. Serve immediately.
